When Jessica Watts from Caring Transitions took care of clearing out my house, she worked miracles! I recommend Jessica and Caring Transitions to anyone. The first time she came to my house, she helped me realize what was feasible. The furnishings that I hadn't passed along to family and friends needed to be donated. The sticking point was a 65-year-old Sailfish sailboat that my dad had built from a kit when I was a kid. I had a beautiful, old, leaky, but complete sailboat in my garage, and nowhere to put it once my house sold. It would be a project for any new owner. Either way, it had to go! My brother had tried to re-home it via a national sailboat website. I had tried to use local sailboat websites and had 2 'adoptions' fall through, including donation to a 'we'll take any boat' charity. They rejected it! And now the closing date on my house was 2 days away, and I was sure I'd have to send the boat to the dump! I was heartbroken. Jessica suggested that she put it on FB Marketplace with the stipulation that it had to be picked up the very next day, and she worked a miracle! A high school teacher for oceanography and wood shop, who wanted to start a sailing program, came on his lunch break and picked it up! My father would have been so pleased! I am truly grateful to Jessica for making this happen, and for all her other work and advice. Caring Transitions made my mandatory downsizing a wonderful experience.
