I don’t usually spend my time making reviews, but this experience was overall extremely positive and I hope this helps anyone else who is dealing with loss of a loved one and at wits end. Our experience was that our mother had passed, and we had a limited time to consolidate and decide what to do with a houseful of things. Terry of Caring Transitions was very patient and informative during our consult. We consulted with several companies. Sometimes the topics get delicate because families may perceive value in things that have no value to the market. Terry did a good job navigating this subject while not being blunt or hurtful; I can’t say this about many of the other companies we spoke with. He spent a lot of time with us and gave us several options about how we could deal with several different groups of belongings The crew that helped clear, organize, and set up the auction was FIVE stars. These ladies were efficient, knowledgeable, not afraid of hard work, cheerful, communicative, and had great senses of humor. They were able to allow us to work with them for some of the process (usually, a family just gets in the way, but they allowed us to help). They did an excellent job at grouping, photographing, and describing the items. I wasn’t there the day of the pickup of auction items so I can’t speak to the impact on the neighborhood. They put in a truly Herculean effort, including going in the attic to remove things in JULY — it was very hot. No complaints from anyone. They left the house in perfect condition. They provided a complete inventory of what was sold, for how much, what was donated, and the donation value. The only reason I can’t give five stars is that we had a little challenge with communication in several instances. We had a very short time window to work with. There were times I felt I had to be extremely proactive in reaching out to Terry of Caring Transitions to “seal our deal” and get on the schedule. A noteworthy item of miscommunication was regarding the date we needed the house to be clear to convey it to a buyer.. We provided the date that we needed the house back, and that was miscommunicated internally within Caring Transitions. As a result of this, we were put in the position of having to arrange for a 3-day rent-back in order to clear the house. This could have cost us money, but fortunately, it didn’t. I would NOT hesitate to recommend this company. Their capability and services felt like lifesavers to my sister and I in a really tough, sad, and confusing time. We were always treated with compassion. The “product” - it was amazing. And to be fair, Caring Transitions have a very tight timeline to work with.
Caring Transitions is the way to go! We hired them to pack, move, and unpack my in-laws. Tom and his team of wonderful ladies were fantastic! We did not have any issues with broken materials. They took pictures before packing so that they could unpack and put things back exactly how they were. They called us any time there were questions, which I very much appreciated. They were kind, considerate, patient, and very sensitive to my in-laws. They also helped to sell a few items, making things stress-free for us. I found Tom and his team to be very professional. The cost was reasonable, as well. I would recommend Caring Transitions to anyone looking for an easy, stress-free move!
Incredible well organized, and super nice and helpful staff
I met representative Terry Kern today, he was very cordial, thank you, great staff here.
Caring Transitions helped my mother move from her house where she lived for 50 years into an independent living place. They helped her decide what to bring, as she was going from a 4 bedroom full house to a 2 bedroom apartment, packed her (a family friend did the actual move, not them, so can't rate the actual move), unpacked her, helped her set up the whole place, even hung the pictures. She LOVED them, they were so nice to her and to us. They were very good about wearing masks and keeping her as safe as possible. The ladies that helped were Becky, Melonie, and Sandy, they were kind, nice, quick, smart and VERY helpful. They then set up and ran an estate sale for her in her house, which went very well. The neighbors reported that it was very organized and that they were much nicer than other estate sale people that they had met! I would highly recommend them. It was a very stressful period for the whole family, but it went about as smoothly as it could.
