I highly recommend Caring Transitions of Westford & Marlborough. I was under an extreme time crunch preparing my 4,000 sq ft home for closing and, after packing up donations and partially filling a 28-yard dumpster myself, I realized the cleanout was simply too overwhelming for one person. Deena came to the house, assessed the situation, and put together a proposal. With closing only two weeks away, the timeline was tight, but she found a way to make it happen. Her crew arrived with four people the first day, two the second day, and then Randy handled much of the remaining work. Randy was an absolute workhorse. They carefully separated and packed anything that could be donated, including clothing, furniture, canned goods, small appliances, home décor, sheets, towels, and much more. What impressed me most was that they didn't simply start throwing things away. Whenever they came across something they thought might have sentimental value or that I might actually want to keep, they stopped and checked with me first. They packed my original dumpster as tightly as possible, but it was full within two days. Deena quickly arranged to have a second 20-yard dumpster delivered the very next day so the cleanout could continue without losing time. Randy somehow managed to fill that one as well — including loading an old refrigerator and a beat-up sofa and loveseat into the dumpster. On the final day, they loaded a small U-Haul with everything they had set aside for donation. Deena then personally made multiple stops to local food banks, shelters, furniture donation organizations, and other charities to make sure usable items found a new home instead of simply being discarded. One story really sums up the level of care they took. After I moved and began unpacking, I had a moment of panic when I couldn't find the second key fob for my car. I had always kept it in the kitchen "junk drawer" at my old house, and for a moment I thought it might have accidentally ended up in one of the dumpsters. Then I immediately thought about how careful Deena's crew had been and said to myself, "There is no way they would have thrown out a car key." Sure enough, about ten minutes later I found it safely packed in one of my boxes. That experience says a lot about how they handled the entire job. Deena, Randy, and the entire Caring Transitions team were professional, courteous, caring, thorough, responsive, and incredibly hard-working. They took what had become an overwhelming situation for me and got the house cleaned out in time for closing while making every effort to donate anything that could still be useful. I would absolutely recommend Caring Transitions of Westford & Marlborough to anyone facing a home cleanout, downsizing, move, or estate transition.
