We are semi-regulars in the restaurant. I'd say we come at least once a month, sometimes, once a week if I'm being especially lazy about cooking. We came in a couple of nights ago for a meal and truthfully, the meal was just fine. The server was a bit uninterested in us, so getting drinks and whatnot took a bit, but we're super patient people. We understand that we're not the center of the world, and we always tip well above, most often 20% of the meal, sometimes more if the server has been especially awesome, because I once hustled for tips. I know the toll it takes on you. But..... I really detest dry burgers and the one served to me was especially dry and rather cold in the middle, so it most likely sat for a bit or was pre-cooked, perhaps? It was slathered in sauce to the point where the patty was sliding out from between the bun, which under normal circumstances with a nice, juicy and hot burger, I would have loved. This was just sad and grey. I nibbled at it and could tell that it did not taste fresh. I cook, so I know when beef is fresh and when it's not. There's a stale taste that beef gets. This burger had that taste. No, I didn't tell anyone. I took it home and washed the sauce off and fed it to my dogs as a treat. They like sweet potato fries too, so it was a win, for them. I ended up with a very upset stomach that night. I have an ostomy, so I have to be especially vigilant about food being spoiled and I should have stopped after the first bite. I didn't. That was my bad. I tried to convince myself that it didn't taste like old, stale blood. And frankly, I did NOT want to complain. Yet, here I am 😇😂. I didn't complain because the last time I ate there (which had been at least 2 weeks ago) I had to return my meal because it had sat under the heatlamps to the point where it was stiff and inedible. They still served it like that🤮. It sat for 26 minutes. I could see it under the lights. My husband's food was great and arrived on time. It was near the end of the night, I get it, things happen. I ate soup, I was ok. We actually stopped going as often because it seemed that each time there was either some mistake or the food quality was a little off. I keep trying because frankly there are nights when I've been too tired to cook and they were open and available and everything was just 🤩perfect. I've had some very good meals here. I've also had wonderful service at Green Mill many, many times. I just need to go earlier before everyone is dead tired and ready to go home.... me too, man, me too 😮💨. Hopefully this review doesn't come off as a complaint, but rather a critique 🤓 because I would dearly like to go back and enjoy a fresh, hot and juicy burger 🍔 again, or even my usual lobster🦞 pasta.
